This week’s new gear round-up leads with an update of a popular open-face lid, with new helmet graphics, sporty gloves and adventure boots not too far behind…

Shoei J-Cruise 2

Shoei’s J-Cruise open-face lid has been popular among city riders and long-distance tourers alike since its release in 2013.

So, for 2020 they’ve released the improved J-Cruise 2 with a host of updates. The new QSV2 sun visor is the same one used on the GT-Air II, which is 5mm deeper and has a deeper recess for the nose.

It’s now easier to integrate an intercom system as there are spaces to store the battery and to house the unit. A revised liner wicks away moisture and is overall more comfortable, while airflow has been improved by adding another air intake on the top of the shell.

The J-Cruise 2 has launched in black, matt black (pictured) and white. RRPs start at £429.99, and they’re available in sizes XS-2XL. You can read about the J-Cruise 2 in full here.

Arai Chaser X – Classic TT

As official partners of the Classic TT, Arai are paying homage to the road racing spectacle with this sleek new graphic.

It comes on the sports-touring Chaser X, and features the Classic TT logo in white with chequered flags on both sides and on the back. The glossy black lid is finished off with white stripes down the chin bar.

The Arai Chaser X has multiple ventilation points, a Formula 1-derived visor locking tab and a MaxVision visor with Pinlock included.

The Classic TT graphic has launched at £524.99 in sizes XS-XL.

Sidi Mid Adventure 2 boots

Sidi’s original Adventure 2 boots are the highest rated off-road boots on the Sportsbikeshop website, and now a shorter version has been released.

The Mid Adventure 2s have a Gore-Tex waterproof membrane, and make use of two adjustable clasps and a Velcro strap to help get the best fit around the leg. Accordion panels give extra flexibility, while plastic bracing around the heel provides protection.

An overlay on the inner sides of the boots protect the bike, and a gearchange pad on the foot preserves the boots a little longer.

They launch at £249.99 in black, in sizes 41-47 (UK7-12).

Rev’it League leather gloves

A new addition to the Rev’It sports collection, the League gloves are constructed from soft leather, with camo print around the knuckles and contrasting coloured stretch panels.

Protection comes in the form of hard knuckle armour, cuff slider, scaphoid slider and a small plastic insert on the side of the little finger, as well as Level 1 CE approval.

Ventilation on the knuckles combined with perforations between the fingers and on the cuff provide airflow, while stretch panels on the fingers and backhand give more flexibility.

The League gloves launch at £119.99 in sizes S-3XL in black/white (pictured) or black/grey.
