A new year means the collections of new kit start to ramp up. Enjoy our pick of the best stuff to arrive over the Christmas break, including new introductions from Alpinestars, Dane and TCX…

Dane Skagen Gore-Tex gloves

The new year is a great time to start planning tours, and these new touring gloves from Dane could be ideal for what you have in mind.

The Skagen gloves have a Gore-Tex membrane for waterproofing, and also make use of Gore Grip technology to stop the inner layers from slipping around.

Perforations on the cuff provide airflow while reflective detailing on the back of the hand keeps you visible at night. Hard knuckle armour and rigid finger inserts look after protection, and the whole glove is CE approved to Level 1.

The Skagen gloves come in sizes S-2XL and have launched at £139.99 in black or black/fluo yellow.

Alpinestars Valparaiso V2 Drystar gloves

Designed to complement Alpinestars’ Valparaiso touring jacket, the new-for-2020 Valparaiso V2 Drystar gloves are made from textile with leather and suede overlays.

Hard knuckle armour and a palm slider aid protection, while a Drystar waterproof membrane keeps the rain out.

Accordion stretch panels on the back of the hand and thumb give extra flexibility and a rubber blade on each thumb makes it a doddle to wipe water off the visor.

The Valparaiso V2 Drystar gloves have launched at £89.99 in black or black/red (pictured) in sizes S-3XL.

Alpinestars Camargue V2 leather boots

The classically-styled Camargue V2 boots make their way into Alpinestars’ 2020 collection, with a soft cowhide upper and padded inner lining.

These discreet heritage offerings are finished off with a strap across the ankle, which has a chunky silver buckle. The toes, heels and ankles have all been reinforced, and the Camargues reach Level 2 of CE approval.

They launch at £159.99 in sizes 38-47 (UK 6-12.5), coming in either the chocolate brown colour pictured or black.

TCX Terrain 3 WP boots

TCX are going all-out for touring in their 2020 collection and their popular Terrain touring/off-road boots receive a style overhaul as well as waterproofing.

The addition of TCX’s own T-Dry membrane means these boots can now be worn without fear of getting soaked. More toned down than the outgoing Terrain 2s, the TCX branding is less obvious and the stretch panel on the front is less pronounced.

Three buckles on the side of the boot offer adjustment around the calf, while an elasticated panel around the top keeps a snug fit that blocks out dirt.

Hard shin armour and ankle protection combined with heel and toe reinforcements help the boots meet the higher Level 2 of the CE standard.

The Terrain 3 WP boots launch in anthracite at £239.99 in sizes 38-48 (UK 5-12.5).

Dane Reykholt textile jacket

Dane’s new Reykholt jacket promises to be versatile enough to use in all seasons.

A removable Gore-Tex waterproof membrane and a detachable thermal lining give warmth and waterproofing. For summer, simply unzip them both and open up vents on the chest, waist, arms and back to let cool air flood in.

Four large external pockets provide plenty of space to carry items, while points of adjustment at the bicep, forearm hem and collar allow the rider to get the best fit.

Level 2 CE-approved armour comes as standard in the shoulders and elbows. A Level 1 back protector also comes included, and the pocket for it is on the outside of the jacket to make room for a bigger back protector.

The jacket has launched in black/dark grey in sizes M-XL at £587.99.
