New gear highlights: January 31, 2020

It’s been an exciting week in the world of bike gear, with loads of new kit being added to the Sportsbikeshop website. Here’s our pick of the best…

RST Pro Series Adventure-X CE textile jacket

RST have upgraded their popular adventure jacket for their 2020 collection.

The Pro Series Adventure-X jacket is one of the first to receive the new X-liner, a removable thermal liner with a Sinaqua waterproof membrane bonded to it.

The textile outer has been reinforced at the shoulders and elbows for durability. Multiple ventilation points, including perforations and zipped vents on the chest, arms and back increase airflow.

A pocket on the back provides housing for a hydration pack, while two large cargo pockets on the front and a removable map pocket offer plenty of storage space.

CE-approved Level 2 shoulder, elbow and back armour is supplied as standard, and the whole jacket has been certified to the middle Level ‘AA’.

The jacket launches in four colours – black, white/blue/red/black, green/ochre (pictured) and grey/silver, in sizes S-5XL. It carries an RRP of £299.99, and a version with an integrated airbag will be available soon.

MotoGP comes to the road with the latest addition to AGV’s collection.

The Pista GP-RR builds on the existing Pista GP-R, adding FIM homologation to get you ready for that inevitable MotoGP call-up.

It has a carbon-fibre shell with permanently open vents on the forehead and chin, though the forehead vents can be closed using supplied rubber covers. The 360° adaptive fit lets riders perfect comfort by adding and removing pieces of padding from the crown and cheekpads.

The AGV Pista GP-RR has launched in seven colours, including plain graphics, Valentino Rossi replicas and a limited edition helmet. Prices start at £999.99 and rise to £1199.99, and it comes in sizes XS-XL.

Richa Force D3O armoured jacket

Richa’s new jacket offers riders an alternative protection option.

The Force D3O is a ‘second skin’ slim fit underlayer with CE-approved Level 1 armour in the elbows, shoulders and back, which can be upgraded to Level 2. Optional chest protectors can also be added. The whole garment is certified to Level ‘C’, which is the best rating for an armoured shirt.

The C rating comes from it being constructed from abrasion-resistant fabric, and the jacket has fit adjustments on the arms as well as a removable belt.

It launches in black in sizes S-4XL at £119.99.

Rev’It Fly 3 leather gloves

There’s no harm in looking ahead to summer bike gear, and Rev’It’s new Fly 3 gloves are the perfect option for hot weather riding.

The goatskin outer is perforated to keep the air flowing, while hard knuckle armour and scaphoid padding look after protection.

A touchscreen-friendly finger and thumb allow use of a smartphone or sat-nav without having to remove the gloves, and stretch panels on the fingers give better flexibility.

The gloves are available in olive green (pictured) or black in sizes XS-4XL. They’ve launched at £69.99.
