We’re back to send you into the weekend with the best of the recent arrivals at Sportsbikeshop, including the latest airbag jacket to hit the market…

RST GT Airbag CE leather jacket

The first of RST’s airbag collection has arrived, integrating an In&motion airbag with the already-popular GT CE sports-touring jacket.

The jacket launches at £499.99, but there are extra costs for using the In&box, which is the module containing the crucial tech that runs the airbag. Riders can choose to buy the In&box outright for £399, or lease one (£120 annually or £12 monthly).

When leasing, riders have the option to pause the contract when they aren’t using the airbag, and can restart it and be sent a new In&box whenever they like. More information on the membership options can be found on In&motion’s website.

If the In&box detects a crash, it inflates the airbag in under 60 milliseconds to protect the rider’s spine, neck, chest and abdomen.

The bag remains inflated until the trigger unit is unscrewed. This can be replaced by the rider for £89.99.

The jacket itself is constructed from full-grain leather and contains Level 2 CE-approved shoulder and elbow armour.

The GT Airbag CE jacket is available now in sizes XS-4XL, and a textile offering with an integrated airbag will be available soon.

RST Pro Series Pathfinder CE textile jacket

RST’s newest textile touring jacket becomes the brand’s first to feature laminated waterproofing.

With a launch RRP of £249.99, the Pro Series Pathfinder jacket has a laminated membrane, which means the waterproof layer has been directly bonded to the outer layer of the jacket to stop it saturating.

There’s also a quilted thermal liner that can be zipped out in warmer weather and zipped vents on the chest and arms allow air to flow to the body when the temperature really steps up.

The Pathfinder comes with a Level 2 CE-approved back protector fitted, along with Level 2 shoulder and elbow armour, and an overall CE Level ‘A’ rating.

The jacket has an elasticated ‘throat coat’ to create a barrier against wind chill and rain, which can be removed for normal riding conditions.

The Pro Series Pathfinder jacket is available now in black or black/fluo yellow, with a grey/red option launching soon. All three colours are available in sizes S-5XL.

A full-length connection zip allows attachment of the matching Pathfinder CE jeans, which have a launch RRP of £199.99 and come in black, black/yellow or grey/red in sizes S-5XL.

Scorpion Exo Covert X

Scorpion’s streetfighter lid collection grows with the addition of the Covert X.

It’s the latest in a series of stylised Scorpion helmets that started with the distinctive Exo Combat, which was recently updated to create the Exo Combat Evo.

Available only in mean matt black, the Covert X’s shell is made from a mixture of fibreglass and aramid fibres. The chinbar is removable, and it’s worth noting the Covert X’s safety approval has an ‘NP’ designation, which means the chinbar is not rated to provide impact protection.

The Covert X is fitted with a lightly tinted pull-down sunvisor, and an additional dark tinted visor is included in the box. Its ventilation remains open at all times, with two intakes on the forehead and three more round intakes on the chinbar.

It launches at £239.99 in sizes XS-2XL.

Alpinestars Juggernaut riding jeans

Forming part of Alpinestars’ 2020 urban range, the Juggernaut jeans are styled like cargo trousers and are constructed from a soft shell material with a windproof membrane.

There’s Alpinestars Bio-Flex flexible knee armour, which is certified to CE Level 1, and optional Bio-Flex hip armour can be added if required.

An elasticated waist and drawstring fastening ensure a closer and more comfortable fit, while elastic around the ankles means they can easily slide inside bike boots.

Four deep pockets (including one with a pop button closure and one with a zip) give space to carry essentials, while a zipped vent on the thigh lets in cool air.

The Juggernaut jeans launch at £139.99 in black in sizes S-4XL.

Falco Ladies Ayda boots

Falco are extending their ladies offerings further with the new Ayda Low boots.

These short boots are made from leather and are backed by a High-Tex membrane for waterproofing. They’re CE-approved to the lower Level 1 and have reinforcements at the heels, toes and ankles.

An elasticated gearshift pad is included, which can be slipped over the toes when required to protect the leather against the bike’s gearshifter.

The Ayda boots launch in black in sizes UK 3-7 with an RRP of £169.99.
