New Gear Highlights: November 6, 2020

Classic, stylish boots from well-loved Italian brands and a bag for keeping camera equipment safe make it onto this week’s new gear leaderboard.

Knox Cold Killers Sport Top MkII

What you wear under your motorcycle jacket is just as important as your outer jacket when it comes to regulating temperature and keeping you comfortable, and that’s where this new mid layer jacket from British brand Knox comes in.

Part of Knox’s Cold Killers family, the Sport Top MkII features a windproof lining with 3D fleece on the back, to assist with airflow and ensure you don’t overheat.

A high neck helps keep cold draughts at bay, and handily it’s a poppered flap so it’s more flexible than having a zipped section extending over the throat. It can be poppered either across the collar or into the chest section to keep it away from the rider’s neck.

The material is also water-resistant to help out if your outer jacket springs a leak and water is heading for your skin.

The jacket launches with an RRP of £79.99 in sizes S-3XL.

Stylmartin Ladies Yuma Elegance WP boots

If you’re after old-school boots designed specifically for women then look no further than the latest offering from Italian brand Stylmartin.

Forget about toesliders, adjustable vents, and fancy fastening systems – these boots keep it simple and, as the name suggests, elegant.

The full-grain leather featured on the exterior is water-repellent, while the inner lining is completely waterproof.

Velcro and a zip closure keeps the boots locked onto your foot, while inside there’s an anatomically-shaped footbed which can be changed to give the perfect fit.

The Yuma Elegance WP boots are available only in timeless black (of course), at a launch RRP of £149. Available in sizes 36-41.

Givi T508 Inner Camera Bag

Are you a budding moto vlogger or just enjoy getting some sweet shots for the ’gram? Givi have got your back with this inner camera bag that’s designed to fit inside Givi tank and tail bags over 14 litres.

Inside the bag, velveteen (not actually velvet) separators keep all your individual camera bits (technical term) secure, and can be removed if required.

There’s also a mesh pocket to store all your smaller bits, such as spare memory cards. Even though this is an inner bag, it comes complete with a carry handle and shoulder strap so you can keep your camera gear with you whenever you’re away from the bike.

The Givi T508 Inner Camera Bag is available at launch with an RRP of £41.

Alpinestars Ridge V2 Waterproof boots

Italian brand Alpinestars need no introduction, but their new mid-length boots do, so here’s the lowdown…

The Ridge boots are pretty feature-packed despite the plain exterior, featuring an internal waterproof membrane underneath the textile outer.

When it comes to protection there’s dual-density ankle protection on the inside and outside of the foot, as well as shin plate reinforcement, and toe and heel protection.

Inside the boot there’s a removable anatomic footbed, and padding around the ankles for extra comfort.

The Ridge V2 boots launch with an RRP of £149.99 and are available in sizes 39-46.

iXS Blade-ST 2.0 textile jacket

iXS have been around since 1979, and they know what they’re doing when it comes to making feature-packed products without wallet-busting price tags.

The Blade-ST maintains that ethos. It’s a bit of an all-rounder, featuring a Solto-Tex two-layer waterproof membrane and removable thermal lining. But it’s also got a breathable mesh lining and four vents for those warmer days.

When it comes to comfort the jacket features adjustable arms, cuffs and waist, so you can tailor the jacket to your preferred fit. Elbow and shoulder armour is CE-certified to the higher Level 2 and there’s a pocket for an optional back protector.

With a launch RRP of £198.99 the Blade-ST is great value and comes in sizes S-5XL. Colour options are plentiful – grey/blue, grey/red, grey/black, the grey/yellow design in our photos or black/grey.
